Europas Kinder wählen besten Kinderfilm

The European Film Academy - EFA Young Audience Award 2018.



Am 6. Mai 2018 entscheiden europaweit nahezu 3.000 Kinder im Alter von 12 bis 14 Jahren über den besten europäischen Kinderfilm des Jahres bzw. den 7. EFA Young Audience Award. Der junge Filmpreis findet mittlerweile in 46 europäischen Städten statt, verteilt auf 37 europäische Länder, und hat es sogar über Europa hinaus bis nach Australien geschafft.

Neben Brisbane zieht der Young Audience Film Day seine Kreise von Lissabon (Portugal) bis Tel Aviv (Israel). An allen Orten werden am selben Tag durch Kinderjurys die drei nominierten Filme angeschaut:

„Girl in Flight“ von Sandra Vannucchi (Italien/Schweiz), hier der Trailer:



Synopsis:
The life of 11-year-old Silvia from Tuscany is dominated by her mother’s depression. Hoping for a break, Silvia pleads for a family trip to Rome. But when her father backs down yet again, she takes off on her own from their home outside Florence to fulfill her dream. Fearless and open to everything, she falls in with a 13-year-old Gypsy girl who reluctantly takes Silvia under her wing. Thus is born a complicated but sincere friendship that will help both girls. Shot in a real Roma camp with resident non-actors, GIRL IN FLIGHT is a tender, frightening and exciting emotional journey based on events of first-time director Sandra Vannucchi’s real life.

Synopsis:
Playing with hobbyhorses is a traditional children’s activity, but today’s Finnish teenagers have created a versatile hobby around it, raising the scene to a whole new level. The hobbyists’ are unofficially organised, working on a voluntary basis. On the one hand they are active online with their Instagram accounts, blogs and forums while on the other they practise the sport by exercising outdoors in woods and parks - and they are serious. They are an ever-growing group that trains determinedly and organises nationwide competitions. Every handcrafted hobbyhorse has its own name and personality. The age range of hobbyists’ is continuously expanding with the eldest now over 20 years old. The hobbyhorse fever is now spreading abroad as well.

Synopsis:
Ady, a 13-year-old boy, no longer listens to his father who raises him alone. The latter, running out of resources, decides to entrust Ady to his uncle Amadou for the summer. Uncle Amadou and his family live on the other side of the Mediterranean sea ... in Burkina Faso! There, at 13 years, one must become a man but Ady, persuaded to go on holidays, understands things differently ...


Seit 2012 und damit von Anfang an ist für Deutschland die Deutsche Kindermedienstiftung Goldener Spatz als Mitveranstalter dabei. In Erfurt werden jedoch nicht nur die Filme gezeigt, sondern hier laufen auch alle Fäden zusammen. Zum Abschluss des Tages melden alle Kinderjurys ihre nationalen Ergebnisse ins CineStar, wo auch der Europäische Kinderfilmpreis überreicht wird. Das kann am 6. Mai 2018 ab 20.00 Uhr auch live auf yaa.europeanfilmawards.eu verfolgt werden.

12-14-Jahre alte Kinder aus 43 europäischen Städten von Island bis Spanien und von Portugal bis Kroatien haben gewählt:
Der Film "Wallay" gewinnt denkbar knapp vor "Girl in Flight".

Die Filme stehen ab sofort unter YAA films als VOD zur Verfügung.
